0 Tags 0 Compartilhamentos - King of KingsKing of Kings was a ruling title employed primarily by monarchs based in the Middle East. Though most commonly associated with Iran (historically known as Persia in the West), especially the Achaemenid and Sasanian Empires, the title was originally introduced during the Middle Assyrian Empire by king Tukulti-Ninurta I (reigned 1233–1197 BC) and was subsequently used in a number of different kingdoms and empires, including the aforementioned Persia, various Hellenic kingdoms, Armenia, Georgia, and Ethiopia. The title is commonly seen as equivalent to that of Emperor, both titles outranking that of king in prestige, stemming from the medieval Byzantine emperors who saw the Shahanshahs of the Sasanian Empire as their equals. The last reigning monarchs to use the title of Shahanshah, those of the Pahlavi dynasty in Iran (1925–1979), also equated the title with "Emperor". The rulers of the Ethiopian Empire used the title of Nəgusä Nägäst (literally "King of Kings"), which was officially translated as "Emperor". The female variant of the title, as used by the Ethiopian Zewditu, was Queen...EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG

0 Tags 0 Compartilhamentos - Tecos hosting autograph session at Uni-Trade StadiumThe Tecolotes Dos Laredos are holding an autograph session in Laredo on Saturday which will observe all necessary guidelines to comply with the city's COVID-19 protocols. According to the club, the event was authorized by the City of Laredo, the Parks & Recreation Department and the Health Department. The autograph signing will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 5 in the team shop at Uni-Trade Stadium. Tecolotes manager Pablo Ortega and first baseman Balbino Fuenmayor will both be in attendance. Ortega is still waiting to coach his first game for the Tecolotes after the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fuenamyor was one of the most consistent batters for the Tecos and in the entire LMB throughout the 2018 and 2019 seasons. In 211 games over that stretch, he hit .347 with 170 RBI, 123 runs and 50 walks. He had 90 extra-base hits including 49 home runs. Those statistics are particularly of interest for Fuenmayor as the Tecolotes are also encouraging young baseball players to sign up for a batting clinic he is hosting at 7 p.m. Monday at Uni-Trade Stadium. Anyone interested in signing up can call (956) 645-7810. General manager Cuitláhuac Rodríguez has been in constant contact with City of Laredo officials to set up this event. Some of the precautions put in place are a requirement to apply antibacterial gel and to wear a face mask at all times. There also will be a limit to groups of five people, and temperature measurements will be taken. jmack@lmtonline.com Twitter: @jmacklmtHTTPS://WWW.LMTONLINE.COM/

- Marcus AureliusMarcus Aurelius Antoninus (Latin: [máːɾkus̠ auɾέːli.us̠ antɔ́ːni.us̠]; English: aw-REE-lee-əs; 26 April 121 – 17 March 180) was Roman emperor from 161 to 180 AD and a Stoic philosopher. He was the last of the rulers known as the Five Good Emperors (a term coined some 13 centuries later by Niccolò Machiavelli), and the last emperor of the Pax Romana, an age of relative peace and stability for the Roman Empire lasting from 27 BC to 180 AD. He served as Roman consul in 140, 145, and 161. Marcus Aurelius was born during the reign of Hadrian to the emperor's nephew, the praetor Marcus Annius Verus, and the heiress Domitia Calvilla. His father died when he was three, and his mother and grandfather raised him. After Hadrian's adoptive son, Aelius Caesar, died in 138, the emperor adopted Marcus's uncle Antoninus Pius as his new heir. In turn, Antoninus adopted Marcus and Lucius, the son of Aelius.
