Fort Bend ISD teachers to return to campus Sept. 23, students on Sept. 28
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and resulting chaos, Fort Bend ISD has been forced to adapt to what is going on around it and how it applies changes to students and faculty. With that in mind, Superintendent Charles Dupre recently updated interested parties on what's happening and provided some key dates for the 2020-21 school year. Related: THIS WEEK: Labor Day is Monday; Bond election update set for Thursday "We know the start of the year has been anything but routine - but I am proud of the resilience our students, staff and parents have demonstrated to ensure a safe and strong start to the year," Dupre said in his recent "Checking in with Charles" presentation. "Despite our successes, I also know that some parents have continued to express concerns about online learning and a strong desire to return their students to campus for face to face learning." Currently undergoing online learning, the district is beginning to transition to a two-model system of online learning and face-to-face classes. "Therefore, it is likely your student will experience a teacher change and a new schedule, regardless of the model you choose." At a special meeting of the Fort Bend ISD school board last week, it was determined that staff would return to their campuses on Sept. 23....
